With the growing numbers of unsupervised children, it is crucial that we establish a new youth center to help children avoid the negative influences of gangs and the criminal activity that gang members engage in. The need for more PALS programs is greater than ever. For years the leaders of Devonshire PALS have wanted to build a youth center to serve the northwest San Fernando Valley. The Devonshire Division of the LAPD has identified this as a priority area in need of youth programs. This community is brimming with children and teens who would benefit greatly from PALS. The PALS Board has acquired land at the intersection of Parthenia Street and Wilbur Avenue. On it, PALS plans to construct a 5,000 square foot youth center. The LAPD has already agreed to assign a police officer as director of the new center. Because the new youth center will be much larger than our other center, it has the capacity to accommodate many more children and teens. In addition to youth activities, we plan to offer family evenings and events to increase family bonding.
We invite you to join us in creating a new PALS youth center for the Northwest San Fernando Valley. Your generous support will give youth a brighter tomorrow. All donors will be recognized in selected Devonshire PALS publications and will be invited to attend special campaign events. Here’s how you can support our plans for the future:
Donors making commitments at the levels listed below will have their
name displayed on a donors wall in the new center.
