LAPD Devonshire PALS Awarded Waste Management Think Green Grant®

Northridge, Calif. – Nov. 27, 2017— Los Angeles Police Department Devonshire Police Activity League (LAPD Devonshire PALS), today announced it was awarded a Waste Management Think Green Grant® in the amount of $2,500 to support their youth center playground improvement project.

“We are grateful for the support Waste Management has extended to us as we continue our work of developing character in youth, reducing juvenile crime and creating safer communities,” said Sue Bruno, Executive Administrator with LAPD Devonshire PALS. “Enhancing our center playground will further our ability to provide a safe space for youth to develop through outdoor activities as part of our after-school enrichment programs.”

Outdoor enhancement efforts of their CDBG with oversight from HUD project includes improvement of outdoor space, building a playground, relocating our basketball court, creating a sun protected eating area and installment of Astroturf on the field. The Waste Management’s Think Green Grant® will be used to put final touches on the project.
